The Waiting Room

The word wait has been defined as staying in a place until an event happens, until someone arrives, until it is your turn to do something. I've chosen this particular definition because it speaks to what I would like to share with you today.

If you've had to wait for something - anything at all- you know how annoying, irritating and draining it can get. It may be waiting for something, waiting on a queue, waiting for a rescue, anything. Waiting can be exhilarating, but most times its just no fun at all, waiting too long can never be and has never been fun.

I've always had everything I want, I've had to wait a couple of times for a couple of things, but I have never had to wait for anything, I'm that girl that has the next thing planned, knows what comes after each step, I thrive on planning and do so horribly under uncertainties, even when I've had to wait, the wait never exceeds the exhilaration. More recently however, I have found myself waiting for so may things, I am sure many of us just like me have somehow found ourselves in this big waiting room. I am just going to share a little secret I have come to learn very recently.

The bible says 'But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.' To start with the Bible acknowledges that there are times in our lives where we would have to wait, the bible acknowledges that waiting can be a really draining experience, most importantly the Bible offers us a solution Wait Upon the Lord. I guess the next thing you're wondering is how this will help you.

Remember when I said I've never had to wait for anything? I only just realised that I have had to wait but I never really noticed because my eyes were fixed on God the whole time, I guess growing up and believing that I am now responsible for whatever happens in my life has led me to forget this crucial fact. This is something I'm sure affects all of us too. Ever since I discovered this cheat if I may call it that, I have made a decision to always remember this.

WAITING IS NEVER A BAD THING AS LONG AS I AM IN THE WAITING ROOM WITH GOD.

Before you say 'I Do' Part 1

For those of you who don't know me, I am not married and I have never been married, but I am just going to share a few tips which I think would work when you are looking to date someone or planning to get married. 1) Friendship; the importance of friendship in any relationship, engagement or marriage cannot be over emphasized. Movies and books have done their utmost best to teach us that love never fails, love is forever and blah blah blah...But guess what? there are times when the love wont be that strong, You'll long for new adventures and stuff, but what would keep you going is the friendship. When a couple is able to separate their love life from their friendship, it does go  long way, because even if you're not feeling the love the friendship would remain hold till the love replenishes. 2) Love for God: make sure that you and your partner have the fear of God and love God with all your heart. Now i'm not saying loving God as in going to church sleeping in churc...

BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING!!!

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;  and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.  I never even knew the full thing, but one day, all I could hear in my head was ‘Be anxious for nothing, but with prayers and supplication, make your request known to God’ This is my own version of the verse and I have been in love with it ever since that day. I must have heard it somewhere, but it came in handy when I needed it.  For those of you who know me, you’ll know worry is my thing, nobody wears it better than me, from what people think about me, to what I think about myself, to the size of my stomach, to how my hair is not growing…..oh I worry So back to what the bible says about worrying, the fact that the bible says we should not worry but make our requests known to God points to one thing, God is ready to attend...
