Be anxious
for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving,
let your requests be made known to God;
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your
hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
This is my
own version of the verse and I have been in love with it ever since that day. I
must have heard it somewhere, but it came in handy when I needed it.
For those of you who know me, you’ll know worry is my thing, nobody wears it better than me, from what people think about me, to what I think about myself, to the size of my stomach, to how my hair is not growing…..oh I worry
So back to what the bible says about worrying, the fact that the bible says we should not worry but make our requests known to God points to one thing, God is ready to attend to us and our worries, our cares, everything that bothers us, all we need to do is just tell it to Him. …..!
I have found out that whenever I say this verse I remind myself that I’m exerting too much energy on worrying, when I can easily just place them in God’s hands, free of charge, He’s asking for nothing in return.
The peace that floods my soul when I remember this verse is amazing. You should try it too. When you find yourself worrying, just keep repeating the words to yourself, because to be honest worrying does not solve anything. Remind yourself that God has the ability to change everything God is the only one who has the power to take your worries away, so cast your cares upon him, well, that and hard work of course….Try this little exercise, and please feel free to let me know if this worked for you.
Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles, it empties today of its strengths….Corrie Ten Boom.
